She journaled her way through the childhood wounds that left her with a fortress around her heart and her life on the edge of ruin. With each entry, you can hear God's pursuit of her. Turn the pages and find yourself nodding in agreement with her questions, her fear, ""Am I beautiful? Am I lovable? Is something wrong with me?"" Dear Dad, Did You Know I Was a Princess? is a memoir of gritty redemption written in love to the dad who missed the chance to really see his daughter. Don't miss this incredible eyewitness account of God as Father to the fatherless. See His power to overcome what would otherwise destroy a young and innocent heart, even your heart.
Dear Dad Sundi Jo Graham 9781622953714 Books
Sundi Jo Graham's book, Dear Dad, is an accumulation of old journal entries in the form of letters addressed to her father. At least, that is how she begins. Throughout the book, however, she alludes to the Heavenly Father, one moment talking to Him, the next confessing in desperation and remorse or praying and surrendering. Her transparency is startling! Her courage and honesty, commendable! Writing from her heart, the author accounts for her long, painful, personal journey of physical and emotional abuse, anger, depression, family struggles, addiction, identify crises, and other unfathomable issues from her past.
Her friends, and God's grace, despite herself, take her away from the awful and messy to recovery and redemption, helping her at the end not only to grow and take Life back in her hands but to bring hope to the hopeless.
Unless one has walked the thorny road of her journey, one cannot relate to what the author shares. Even reading her complex chronicle is not comfortable. Yet, she draws the reader into her pain and anguish, touching and activating his compassionate heart.

Kind of a tear jerker and funny. Truly inspiring and moving book. It's a book people can relate to and see that change can happen! That you ARE good enough and loved. It amazing to see all the stumbling blocks SJ came across and over came. I got the privledge to see her at a retreat and hear her speak and the change and fire for God is truly there. Definetly recommend people to read it this book. No matter your circumstance. )
Sundi Jo held nothing back. You want honest? She gave it. You want vulnerable? She gave it. You want authentic? She gave that too. Sundi Jo shared the good, the bad, and the ugly in her relationship with her father and herself, and how that grew her faith in her Heavenly Father. I can't wait to see what she publishes next.
This book was truly inspiring. Sundi Jo was raw and honest with her feelings throughout the book and it shown through for the reader. I would recommend this book to every female. It will be most impactful for the ones that father is not in the picture but I believe even people that have their dads around will greatly benefit from the book. One of the best books I have read in the last 5 year and I love to read.
This book is written straight from the heart of a young woman who has been to the depths of despair and loneliness. She felt unloved and unlovable. But she found the answers and rose like a phoenix from the fire. This book will draw you in from the very first sentence and hold your attention to the very end. Sundi Jo Graham shares her life story through her journal. I promise this book will bless you. Perhaps you share her story. Pick one up, you won't be sorry.
This book is the true story of the author's struggles with addiction, bad things that happened to her while growing up, her struggle to feel the love of her father.
It is written in a journal format.
The author tells about what was happening in her life before she went to a treatment center, her denial of the problems she had, and she tells about her days in the center. She writes a journal through the process with actual dates. She writes the journal as if she is writing to her dad explaining her feelings.
If you like to read real-story journals, like to see how people make it to the other side through difficult times, and would like to understand the feelings of people who are going through addictions, I would recommend this book for you.
The author has a blog in which she recently posted a video. The author's voice on the video was just as I imagined it through reading her journal.
